Welcome to DC Universe’s Arrowverse Couch Club! This is a club where fans can come together to discuss the newest episodes of the CW’s DC lineup of shows: The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning and, of course, Arrow (RIP).
How to Watch
While none of the Arrowverse shows are currently available on DCU, the CW does post full episodes for free on its website/app the day after they air. If you’re not able to watch new episodes live, through DVR or On Demand, this is a surefire way to make sure you’re up to date. In addition, almost all previous seasons can be found on Netflix, with the latest seasons arriving there just over a week after their finales.
(Note: The CW ended its deal with Netflix in 2019, so this will not apply to new shows like Batwoman, which is streaming on HBO Max. Stay tuned for more details on that.)
During the fall and spring TV seasons, meetings will be held weekly, starting Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT to give members a few days to get caught up. With the rotating schedule of episodes, meetings will typically be open for three days and end on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, as that will be when new episodes of Batwoman start airing.
Though there will be at least one discussion question connecting the episodes of a given week, members are also free to discuss various aspects of the week’s episodes: what you liked, didn’t like, writing, acting, directing, action, Easter eggs, news, speculation and more.
While the shows are on hiatus, meetings will be held monthly to discuss various comics that take place in the Arrowverse shows, such as Arrow: Season 2.5, The Flash: Season Zero and Adventures of Supergirl. We’ll also discuss big news developments regarding the shows, look back on previous episodes and discuss what we hope to see when the shows return.
Spoilers will be discussed openly, so make sure you’re all caught up on the week’s episodes before joining any given week’s meeting. I would also recommend that members be caught up on all seasons of the Arrowverse shows, as anything that has happened beforehand is fair game for discussion. Outside of that, just be sure to be respectful of others’ opinions, stay on topic and enjoy yourself!
To get notifications about new discussions, go to your profile and go to “Tags” under “Preferences.” From there, add arrowverse-couch-club to “Watching First Post” and you’re all set!
We’ll officially kick off the meetings in the first weekend of March, but in the meantime, feel free to introduce yourself! I’m really interested in hearing about everyone’s connection to the Arrowverse:
- When did you start watching?
- Which show is your favorite?
- Who’s your favorite character? (or characters if you can’t choose just one)
- What do you love most about the Arrowverse?
The Crisis may be over, but we’re just getting started. Join today and together, we will not fail this fandom.
