Batgirl (2011-) #8
This issue was incredible. I like how the main meta-villain was not actually the focus of the story in the end. Even Grotesque realized he wasn’t the important one, the one that Batgirl had a vested interest in. It was really sad to see Batgirl recall what happened to her. I was confused as to why she would let Danny go, but in the end it all made sense. The art in this title continues to be gorgeous. It made the scene at the end that much more powerful. The rain added to the atmosphere of sadness, but also a washing away of a question Babs had for so long. She was able to get some closure on that aspect at least.
Having James return is going to be wild. The backstory with the mom was a little unbelievable. I hope there is more to that story because the mom broke a little too easily and abandoned her family too quickly.
