Here’s how this thread works: name any DC character, and I will write a short poem about them in the form of a limerick. One character per person, please. Here we go!
This thread is gold based on the title alone.
Exotica from Divine Right: The Adventures of Max Faraday.
The Penguin’s an erudite bird
Who stands always apart from the herd.
He’s a charmer by letter
But those who know better
Will tell you his manner’s absurd.
Dream’s sister’s your very first friend
Though you often do best to pretend
That as you grow older
She’s not by your shoulder
But you always catch up by the end.
The rights may belong to DC now Vroom, but that’s an Image book as far as I’m concerned. Try again.
All right, here you go:
There once was a girl named Exotica
Whose voice sounded like a melodica.
Designed by Jim Lee,
Readers clearly can see
Inspiration from softcore erotica.
Divine Right was published under Wildstorm when they were part of Image and Wildstorm is owned by DC so it counts IMO.
Nicely done. How about…Angel and the Ape?
Sure, but seeing how Exotica’s never appeared in a comic since DC’s acquisition of WildStorm, it’s a nominal distinction at best.
HCQ, you come up with all the best ideas for threads.
Let’s see, how about… Mogo?
Haha love it! How about Mick Rory?
I really like The Penguin poem! How about The Riddler.
The love between Swamp Thing and Abby Arcane!
“You really must think I’m quite odd
If I’d seek out the grandson of Grodd,”
Said the Angel detective,
“My brain’s not defective,
I’d much sooner kneel before Zod.”
Bolphunga the widely despised
Sought a Green Lantern as his next prize.
He took his might for granted
‘Til he came to the planet
And learned why Mogo won’t socialize.
There once was a thief named Mick Rory,
Who quite literally burned bright with glory.
The one thing he admired
Over roars of a fire
Was writing a hot romance story.
To the Riddler, The Batman complained,
“You’re a gag villain, stay in your lane!”
What did he say to that?
“When’s a bat not a bat?
Perhaps it’s when the Bruce starts to Wane.”
MATURE READERS ONLY:
Making love can get pretty damn hot
When your lover provides his own knots.
When two bodies entwine
Amid creeping of vines
Do be careful and try not to Rot.
That Mick Rory limerick is awesome!
