Green lantern

Why was Green lantern the animated series cancelled

it was made alongside the 2011 green lantern movie but that movie bombed so they cancelled everything

Movie merchandise sales.

Movie merchandise sales may have been related to that, but it was because of the poor ratings that the show was cancelled. There was a voice actor that stated the cosumer producs folks wanted to sell toys. But the retaiers said they already had toys (from the movie) and that they did not need to so they were never made. Lack of toy sales is not a good argument ( Especially when there never were any toys). If the show had good ratings, then they would have continued on for additional seasons since the sponsors would have paid for advetising.

A damn shame

Mattel can also share in the toy sales blame game. They should have had GLTAS toys on shelves before the show began. As it is, the only evidence any toys were made for the show is the occassional prototype that pops up on eBay. McDonald’s GLTAS Happy Meal promotion was timed better.

That was a fun show. When will it be available here for us members to watch?

That was a good show & was just getting legs. I watched it on fire stick a long time ago & Idk it even existed. Just happened to run across it on there. They really buried that one deep promotion & cancellation wise.

It was the lead show on the DC Nation block on Cartoon Network so it got some promotion, but yeah, it (the show and the block as a whole) probably could have been promoted better.

The movie didn’t do well, the toys weren’t selling and the show was really bizarre cop propaganda. The show is real pretty to look at, but kind of morally off-putting. Seems like it’d be not super fun to watch if you’re a kid and at the end of the day these are shows marketed to children first, we just get the runoff benefit.
