Superman: Birthright (2003-) #9
Wow, Lois insisting on calling Olsen ‘Jimmy’ after repeatedly be corrected and asked not to is really obnoxious. At work we actually had training on this type of behavior being an often overlooked, but widespread and potentially impactful form of workplace harassment. I wonder what was intended by this behavior in the comics. Was Lois meant to be contradictory (standing up for Olsen against the boss, but then basically bullying him in her own, less obvious, potentially oblivious way?) Was this supposed to be an appealing quirk somehow or show that she’s ‘tough’ somehow? Was this just a throwaway gag that wasn’t meant to get so much attention? Haha, maybe, but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me.
